This privacy policy explains how Software Commerce Europe B.V. (hereafter “SCE BV”, operating under the name “Software.eu”) processes your personal data when you visit our website/webshop, create an account, place an order, or contact us. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/AVG).

2. Who this applies to
Applies to customers (consumers and business clients), contacts of business clients/suppliers, and visitors of our website/webshop.
3. What personal data we process
- Account and order data: name, address, email, phone, company name, VAT number, reference/PO, ordered product/license.
- Payment and invoice data: payment method, invoice address, IBAN (if applicable), transaction IDs.
- License and activation data: license keys, customer ID at supplier, domain/tenant (if required), usage rights.
- Support and contact data: content of your query, log/error messages (if provided), correspondence.
- Website data: cookie IDs, IP address, device/browser information, click behavior (according to your cookie preferences).
4. Purposes and legal bases
4.1 Performance of contract – to process your order, deliver/activate licenses, provide customer service.
4.2 Legal obligation – accounting/invoicing (tax retention), compliance with export/sanction rules for certain software.
4.3 Legitimate interest – system security, fraud prevention, improving our services, limited B2B communication.
4.4 Consent – marketing email newsletters, (first/third-party) analytics and/or advertising cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Data sharing
- Fulfilment partner Mensys B.V. – processes data on our behalf for procurement, delivery, and invoicing. In some cases, Mensys may be a co-controller when legally required (e.g., tax administration).
- Software vendors – for activation/license management; they have their own EULA/privacy policies.
- Payment providers and banks – to process payments and prevent fraud.
- IT/hosting and support providers – for secure hosting, maintenance, and customer service.
- Government authorities – when legally required (e.g., investigation, tax obligations).
6. Transfers outside the EEA
If processing occurs outside the European Economic Area, we implement appropriate safeguards, such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and – if necessary – additional measures. Information on applicable safeguards is available on request.
7. Cookies and similar technologies

8. Retention periods
- Order and invoice data: at least 7 years (legal retention period).
- Account and support data: as long as your account is active and up to 24 months afterwards, unless longer retention is required for (legal) obligations or disputes.
- Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent (we keep proof of consent for a reasonable period).
- Cookie data: according to the periods in the Cookie Policy or earlier upon withdrawal of consent.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object (including objection to processing based on legitimate interest and to direct marketing). If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time.

10. Children
Our webshop is intended for persons aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
11. Automated decision-making and profiling
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal consequences or significantly affect you. Any personalization/recommendations on the website have no significant impact and are optional via cookies/consent.
12. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure your personal data, including encryption (where appropriate), access control, logging/monitoring, and periodic review of procedures.
